Overview of Disabled Persons’ Federation
Dalian Disabled Persons’ Federation (Municipal Disabled Persons’ Federation for short) was founded on June 14, 1988.
It is a local organization of China Disabled Persons’ Federation;It is a disabled group that integrates representative organization of the disabled, social welfare group and career management organization. The municipal Disabled Persons’ Federation implements the function of “representative, service, management”:
- represent the common interests of the disabled, maintain the lawful rights and interests of the disabled, promote humanitarianism, publicize undertakings for the disabled, strengthen the relationship among the government, society and the disabled, mobilize the public to understand, respect, care and help the disabled, unit and educate the disabled to develop the spirit of self-respect, self-confidence, independent and self-improvement; carry on activities, including rehabilitation of the disabled, education, training, employment, culture and sports, social security, construction of disabled facilities and other services so as to create a favorable environment for helping the disabled equally participating in social life.
- undertake part of administrative functions entrusted by the government, develop and administrate the undertakings for the disabled, undertake daily work of the municipal working committee for the disabled, responsible for guiding, supervising and managing various social groups for the disabled, develop international exchanges and cooperation of undertakings for the disabled.
